44.6% of Ukrainians named the EU countries among those that most contribute to achieving peace — a study by Experts Club and Active Group

The countries of the European Union remain in the first position in terms of the share of Ukrainians' answers to the question about who contributes the most to achieving peace in Ukraine. In August 2026, EU countries were named by 44.6% of respondents, the USA by 25.2%, Great Britain by 23.3%. This is evidenced by the results of the third wave of research on the attitude of Ukrainians to the countries of the world, conducted by Active Group together with Experts Club, reports the information and analytical center Experts Club.

Compared to March 2026, estimates have changed significantly. In the spring, EU countries were mentioned in this context by 63.4% of respondents, Great Britain by 53.8%, and the USA by 29.6%. In August, the indicators of the EU and Great Britain decreased by 18.8 and 30.5 percentage points, respectively, while the indicator of the USA changed much less - by 4.4 percentage points. alt="">

At the same time, in comparison with August 2025, the share of respondents who named EU countries increased slightly - from 42% to 44.6%. At that time, the US rate was 25.8%, Great Britain - 12.8%. Thus, the dynamics of assessments of Great Britain remains the most dramatic: 12.8% in August 2025, 53.8% in March 2026 and 23.3% in August of the current year.

Assessments of the role of other great powers remain much lower. China was named by 4.1% of respondents in August 2026, compared to 3.5% in March and 1.3% a year earlier. The indicator for India was 1.8%, and for Brazil - 1%.

Director of the research company Active Group Oleksandr Pozniy emphasized that the public perception of the states should be considered together with the level of awareness and the real development of bilateral relations.

"It is better to develop not only general awareness. First of all, business associations, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs need to work to develop bilateral relations and improve the balance. In conditions where Ukraine already lacks funding and we live, in fact, at the expense of external borrowing, we need to expand cooperation with countries where we can have a positive balance," said Pozniy.

The survey was conducted in August 2026 by the method of self-filling online questionnaires in the SunFlowerSociology panel. 800 citizens of Ukraine over the age of 18 took part in it. According to the organizers, the sample is representative by age, gender and region, and the stated maximum theoretical statistical error is ±3.5 percentage points. This is the third wave of the survey after the August 2025 and March 2026 surveys.
