Financial companies take all ten top spots by number of lawsuits in Ukraine

All ten of Ukraine's largest corporate plaintiffs by the number of new lawsuits in 2026 work in the financial sector. Among the 100 most active legal entities that have turned to court, 39 are engaged in lending and providing other financial services, according to data from the OpenDatabot study, published 28 October 2026.

According to court registry data, the largest number of cases for the incomplete 2026 were opened due to lawsuits from the financial company Ukr Kredit Finans — 80 421.

The second spot is held by Spozhyvchyi Tsentr with 68 076 cases, third is Universal Bank with 25 544, fourth is Aktsent-Bank with 22 002, and fifth is Faktyring Partners with 19 688.

The sixth position is held by the company Unit Capital with 19 050 cases. Following are Dyzhi Finans — 17 050, Kolekt Tsentr — 16 699, Kredit-Kapital — 15 613, and the European Agency for Debt Recovery — 14 993.

Thus, according to calculations based on the published ranking, the top ten largest corporate plaintiffs account for a total of more than 299 thousand new lawsuits for the incomplete 2026.

Meanwhile, only two leaders — Ukr Kredit Finans and Spozhyvchyi Tsentr — appear in 148 497 cases, which makes up almost half of the combined figure for the top ten.

Compared to 2025, the ranking structure has changed significantly.

Ukr Kredit Finans company rose from eighth place to first, and Faktoring Partners — from 17th to fifth.

Universal Bank improved its position from fifth to third, Aktsent-Bank — from sixth to fourth. Yunyt Kapital rose from ninth place to sixth, Dzhiji Finans — from 15th to seventh, and Kolekt Tsentr — from 13th to eighth.

Meanwhile, the European Agency for Debt Recovery, which held first place in 2025, dropped to tenth.

The rating indicates a high concentration of court appeals among credit market participants, but does not allow determining what share of the corresponding lawsuits was satisfied and what amounts were actually recovered from debtors.

In the structure of the top hundred largest corporate plaintiffs, a significant role is also played by enterprises in the municipal and energy sectors.

According to OpenDatabot, 24 rating participants work in the fields of electricity, gas supply, heat supply, and water supply.

Another 14 organizations belong to the sphere of public administration.

Thus, among the most active corporate plaintiffs, organizations prevail whose activities are related to monetary obligations of consumers, the provision of financial or municipal services, as well as the performance of state functions.

Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Vasyl Krat explains the high judicial activity of creditors by the limited possibilities of out-of-court debt collection for consumer loans.

According to him, for banks and financial companies, turning to court in many cases remains the main way to achieve debt collection.

At the same time, the court procedure allows verifying the validity of the creditor's demands, including the legality of the accrued interest.

The «OpenDatabot» study covers court cases from 2025–2026 in which the plaintiffs were legal entities. The results published for 2026 are interim and are compared with the full previous calendar year.
