The Ukrainian rolled metal market in January-September 2026 decreased by 13.79% compared to the same period last year — to 2.728 million tons, according to data from the Ukrmetalurgprom association.
At the same time, the dependence of the domestic market on imported products has increased significantly. For nine months, Ukraine imported 1.276 million tons of rolled metal, which corresponds to 46.78% of domestic consumption.
A year earlier, the volume of the Ukrainian market was 3.1645 million tons, and imports were 1.2395 million tons, or 39.17%. Thus, despite the reduction in overall demand, the share of foreign rolled metal for the year increased immediately by 7.61 percentage points.
In fact, almost every second ton of rolled metal consumed on the domestic market of Ukraine in January-September 2026 was imported.
Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 3.729 million tons of rolled metal during this period, which is 77% of the indicator January-September 2025.
The decrease in domestic consumption occurs after a significant recovery of the market last year. According to the results of 2025, the volume of the rolled metal market increased by 21.73% to 4.002 million tons, and the share of imports was 40.07%.
For comparison: in 2024, the Ukrainian market of rolled metal was 3.288 million tons, and in 2023 - 3.506 million tons.
