Kyiv region became the largest among the regional markets of new residential construction in January-June 2026 with an indicator of 599.3 thousand sq.m. m, while 437.9 thousand square meters were declared in Kyiv. m.
About 9.1 thousand apartments have been announced in the Kyiv region at the stage of the start of construction. In annual terms, the area of new construction practically did not change, having decreased by only 0.3%.
In Kyiv, the area of declared new housing decreased by 10.7% — to 437.9 thousand square meters. m.
At the same time, the statistics regarding the number of apartments in the capital look atypical: the State Statistics Service indicates about 1.4 thousand declared apartments with a significant amount of total area. This may be related to the structure of specific projects and the peculiarities of the published data.
The third largest market was the Lviv region, where in the first half of the year 501.5 thousand square meters were declared. m of housing and about 7.2 thousand apartments.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the area of new building was 248.4 thousand square meters. m, having decreased by 20.5% year-on-year. At the same time, about 5.8 thousand apartments were declared.
In the Odesa region, the figure reached 328.7 thousand square meters. m and about 1.1 thousand apartments, however, the State Statistics Service does not disclose comparable figures for last year.
Thus, in terms of the volume of new construction announced, the largest markets continue to be concentrated around Kyiv and the western regions of the country.
