More than 551,000 Ukrainian companies have additional signatories - Opendatabot

More than 551,000 companies registered in Ukraine have, in addition to the head, at least one signatory, and the total number of such authorized persons has exceeded 603,000, according to data from the Unified State Register analyzed by Opendatabot.

According to Opendatabot research published on September 21, 2026, 551,328 companies, or 38% of the total number of registered companies in Ukraine, have an additional signatory. Another 897,893 companies, or 62%, do not have such representatives. Thus, the total base on which the calculation was made is about 1.45 million companies.

In general, the Unified State Register has 603,304 signatories as of September. In some cases, one and the same person has the right to represent several legal entities at once. The record holder currently represents 246 companies among the signatories.
A signatory is a person who is authorized to perform certain legally significant actions on behalf of the company. In particular, it is about signing contracts, submitting documents for state registration and other actions provided for by the powers granted to it.

At the same time, the mere fact of entering a person in the register as a signatory does not mean unlimited powers. Permitted transactions, restrictions, limit amounts of contracts and other conditions of representation may be specified separately in the UDR. Therefore, when checking a counterparty, it is important to assess not only the presence of a signatory, but also the specific scope of his rights.

According to Opendatabot, the institution of additional signatories gained special practical importance after the start of a full-scale war. Mobilization, communication interruptions, shelling, managers staying abroad or other circumstances can temporarily make it difficult for the director to perform his functions.
The presence of another authorized person allows the company not to concentrate all operational processes on one manager and to continue concluding contracts, registration procedures and other actions necessary for work.

At the same time, a significant number of companies that can be represented by one person increases the importance of checking such persons during the conclusion of agreements. It is advisable for the counterparty to check the relevance of the representative's powers, possible restrictions on the amount or type of contract, and the presence of changes in the Unified State Register.

You can check the signatories of a particular company and the scope of their registered powers through services that use open UDR data.
