Switzerland has approved eight more projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine worth CHF 135 million

As reported by Open4Business, in the Swiss city of Aarau on October 15, 2026, the Export Forum "Wiederaufbau Ukraine" economic forum was held, dedicated to the involvement of Swiss companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine, the development of bilateral trade and implementation of joint investment projects.

As reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland, the organizer of the event was the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Canton of Aargau (AIHK). The forum was attended by representatives of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission, Swiss government institutions, business and experts in the field of international trade.

Representatives of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the organization Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) presented the opportunities of the Ukrainian market, the experience of Swiss enterprises in Ukraine and state mechanisms for supporting private investments.

In particular, the SECO representative for infrastructure financing Silvio Giroux and the consultant Switzerland spoke to the participants Xavier Cornyu of Global Enterprise for Europe and the CIS countries.

The main attention was paid to the involvement of Swiss companies in the restoration of Ukrainian infrastructure, the expansion of production cooperation and the use of financial instruments for business support. The forum also became a platform for establishing direct contacts between Swiss entrepreneurs and representatives of organizations that support international investment projects.

The event took place against the background of the expansion of the state program of Swiss participation in the recovery of the Ukrainian economy.

According to the program of cooperation with Ukraine for 2025-2028, the Swiss government has earmarked more than CHF 1.5 billion for financing reconstruction, reforms and sustainable development projects. Of this sum, CHF500 million is intended to support Swiss private sector projects in Ukraine.

In particular, on October 2, 2026, the Swiss Federal Council approved the financing of eight more projects by Swiss companies with a total volume of CHF135 million. They relate to energy, public transport and water supply.

The projects were selected on a competitive basis with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian and Swiss authorities. Companies that receive financing must provide their own contribution of at least 10% of the cost of sales.

In addition, on October 9, 2026, a bilateral agreement between Ukraine and Switzerland on cooperation in the reconstruction process entered into force. The document creates a legal basis for expanding the participation of Swiss companies in the restoration of the Ukrainian economy and infrastructure.

A separate line of support provides for the financing of investments in the creation and modernization of production facilities in Ukraine. In May 2026, SECO announced a tender with a budget of up to CHF50 million for Swiss companies already operating on the Ukrainian market. The amount of support for an individual project ranges from CHF 3 million to CHF 10 million, provided that the enterprise finances at least half of its cost. The selection of such projects will continue until the spring of 2027.

According to the assessment of the Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland, the development of cooperation with local chambers of commerce and business associations creates additional opportunities for attracting investments, technologies and equipment necessary for the reconstruction of the country.

Switzerland Global Enterprise is the official Swiss organization for the promotion of exports and international activities of enterprises. It helps companies enter foreign markets, find business partners and evaluate investment opportunities. SECO is responsible for the implementation of Switzerland's economic policy and participates in the financing of international development and recovery programs.
