Director of the research company Active Group Oleksandr Pozniy, commenting on the previous waves of the study, drew attention to the connection of public evaluations with international politics and the perception of support for Ukraine.
"This study confirms the general vector of public sentiments in Ukraine, which intensified after the start of a large-scale war. Ukrainians clearly associate the support received primarily from the countries of the European Union and Great Britain with a positive attitude towards them," Pozniy said. Separately, regarding Hungary, he emphasized: "Such results are not unexpected - the official rhetoric of Budapest and Bratislava often diverges from the interests of Ukraine and is perceived as pro-Russian, which cannot but be reflected in public opinion."
The new wave shows a significant softening of Hungary's evaluations compared to March. At the same time, it is still not possible to talk about a predominantly positive perception: negative answers remain approximately one and a half times more common than positive ones, and the largest single group was respondents with a neutral attitude.
The survey was conducted in August 2026 using the method of online self-completion of questionnaires in the SunFlowerSociology panel among 800 Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and older. The sample is representative by age, gender and region, the maximum theoretical error for indicators at the level of 50% is ±3.5 percentage points.
