The number of cases of seizure of the property of enterprises in Ukraine in seven months exceeded the figure for the entire year 2025

In Ukraine, against the background of a general reduction in the number of criminal proceedings related to raiding, the share of cases of illegal seizure of enterprise property has increased sharply: for January-July 2026, 17 such proceedings have already been registered, which exceeds the figure for the entire year 2025, according to the data of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, published Opendatabot and analyzed by the analytical center Experts Club.

A total of 103 criminal proceedings were registered in the first seven months of the current year, which Opendatabot classifies as raiding. Their total number decreased by 36% compared to the same period last year.

However, the structure of such crimes has noticeably changed.

Cases under Article 206-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal seizure of property of an enterprise, institution or organization — accounted for 17 proceedings, or about 16.5% of all raiding cases.

For comparison, in 2025, the share of this category was about 7%.

Thus, over the course of a year, the share of proceedings most directly related to the seizure of enterprise property more than doubled — from approximately 7% to 17%.

In January-July, 12 more proceedings were opened under Article 206 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on countering legal economic activity.

At the same time, the majority of registered cases, as before, is not related to the direct seizure of assets, but to documents. Under Article 205-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on the forgery of documents submitted for state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, 74 proceedings were instituted — almost 72% of the total number.

Despite the increase in the number of cases of illegal possession of property, none of the 17 such cases from January to July 2026 was sent to court. A similar situation arose with cases of opposition to legal economic activity.

All 11 raiding cases brought to court since the beginning of the year related to forgery of documents.

Thus, official statistics show two opposite trends: the total number of registered raiding cases in Ukraine is decreasing, but the share of proceedings directly related to the illegal seizure of company assets is noticeable is growing.
