The State Customs Service of Ukraine transferred UAH 75.2 billion of customs payments to the state budget in September 2026, which is UAH 18.1 billion more than in the same month last year.
As reported by Open4Business with reference to the data of the State Customs, compared to September 2025, revenues increased by 31.7%. At that time, UAH 57.1 billion was transferred to the budget.
The department noted that the actual revenues in September were UAH 4.6 billion higher than the indicative figure established by the Ministry of Finance.
One of the main factors in the growth of revenues was the increase in the volume of taxable imports. In September 2026, its volume amounted to $7.3 billion, which is 23.7% more than a year earlier.
In particular, revenues from customs clearance of natural gas increased significantly - by UAH 2.8 billion, passenger cars - by UAH 2.2 billion, petroleum products - by UAH 1.8 billion, coal - by UAH 1.3 billion.
Additional revenues were also provided by the import of telephone devices — by UAH 0.9 billion, power generators — by UAH 0.7 billion, and trucks — by UAH 0.6 billion.
At the same time, benefits for the payment of customs payments, granted during the customs clearance of goods in September, amounted to UAH 25.3 billion, which is UAH 5.9 billion, or 30.4%, more than in September last year.
The largest volumes of benefits fell on defense goods — UAH 13.1 billion, goods imported under free trade agreements — UAH 5.7 billion, and energy equipment — UAH 2.4 billion.
Thus, despite the increase in the amount of granted benefits, the growth of imports and payments for certain large commodity groups allowed the State Customs to significantly increase revenues to the state budget.
State the customs service administers customs payments during the movement of goods across the customs border of Ukraine. Customs revenues, primarily import VAT, excise and customs duties, are one of the largest sources of state budget revenues.
