As reported by Open4Business, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 10.78 million tonnes of maize from 1.72 million hectares by 3 November 2026, or 37.5% of the projected area, Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food said.
The average maize yield reached 62.8 centners per hectare. At a comparable point in the previous harvest, preliminary figures as of 31 October 2025 put the yield at 61.5 centners per hectare. This represents an increase of around 2.1%.
The harvest is progressing more slowly than last year. By the end of October 2025, farmers had harvested 40% of the maize area, compared with 37.5% as of 3 November this year.
Over the latest week, farmers added around 2.9 million tonnes to the maize harvest. Output rose from 7.89 million tonnes on 27 October to 10.78 million tonnes in early November, a weekly increase of about 36.6%.
More than 2.86 million hectares of maize, or 62.5% of the projected area, remain unharvested. The rest of the maize harvest will play a decisive role in Ukraine’s overall grain output in 2026, as the wheat, barley and pea harvests have already ended.
Maize is one of Ukraine’s main grain exports. It is used in compound feed, food production and industrial processing.
Ukraine had harvested 44.62 million tonnes of grains and pulses as of 3 November, with 75.1% of the projected area harvested.
