The attitude of Ukrainians to Great Britain remains one of the most positive among all countries covered by a sociological survey conducted in March 2026 by the research company Active Group together with the information and analytical center Experts Club. The share of positive assessments is 74.6%, which is only slightly lower than the indicator of August 2025 (75.3%). At the same time, the share of negative evaluations slightly increased - from 5.0% to 5.8%.
The structure of responses is dominated by positive evaluations: 40.3% of respondents expressed a "completely positive" attitude, another 34.3% - "mostly positive". This distribution indicates a high level of trust and a clearly formed positive perception of the country among Ukrainians.
The share of neutral assessments is 18.2%, which is a relatively low indicator and confirms that the majority of respondents have a certain attitude towards Great Britain. Negative assessments remain limited: 3.3% chose the option "mostly negative", 2.6% - "completely negative". Another 1.4% of respondents could not answer.
A comparison with the previous period shows that the overall level of positive perception of Great Britain remains consistently high, although there is a slight increase in critical assessments. At the same time, these changes do not have a systemic nature and do not affect the overall picture, in which Great Britain maintains its position among the most positively perceived partners of Ukraine.
A characteristic feature of the attitude towards this country has a high proportion of "completely positive" evaluations, which indicates an emotionally strong perception. This means that the image of Great Britain in Ukrainian society is formed not only on a rational level, but also has a significant value and symbolic component.
"The attitude towards Great Britain demonstrates that Ukrainians quite clearly distinguish the role of different countries in the international context. Where there is a consistent position and clear signals of support, a stable positive image is formed. Even small fluctuations in the indicators do not change the general level of trust in such partners," said Oleksandr Pozniy, director of the research company Active Group.
Thus, the results of the survey show that Great Britain maintains one of the highest levels of positive perception among Ukrainians. Minor changes in dynamics do not affect the general trend: the country remains a stable and positively evaluated partner in public opinion of Ukraine.
According to a study conducted by the Experts Club information and analytical center based on the data of the State Customs Service, Great Britain ranks 17th in terms of the total volume of trade in goods with Ukraine with an indicator of $2.08 billion. At the same time, the import of British goods exceeds Ukrainian exports, due to which the balance of bilateral trade is negative and amounts to more than $785 million.
