Ukrzaliznytsia increased freight transportation by 9% thanks to new routes

Ukrzaliznytsia has published operational indicators for the current year. The volume of cargo transportation increased by 9% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 142 million tons.

The key factor of growth was the opening of new routes through Poland and Romania, which made it possible to partially compensate for the loss of traditional routes through Black Sea ports.

The company also announced the purchase of 150 new freight locomotives as part of the agreement with Alstom and Siemens Mobility, the first of which will be put into operation already this year.
