The issue of attracting foreign investment is one of the key issues for Ukraine's post-war recovery. However, the real state of affairs is significantly different from the optimistic forecasts of international conferences.
Among the main obstacles is the judicial system, which investors themselves call unpredictable, corruption risks at the level of regulatory authorities and the lack of a clear mechanism for property protection.
At the same time, a number of sectors are showing active interest from foreign capital: IT, renewable energy and agro-processing. These industries have competitive advantages and are less dependent on the state of the legal system.
