Gasoline imports to Ukraine decreased by 5% in September amid record retail prices — "A-95"

The import of motor gasoline into Ukraine in September 2026 amounted to 145,000 tons, which is 5% less than in August, but 3% higher than in September of last year, the Consulting Group "A-95" reported based on the results of a special study.

In January-September, Ukraine imported 1.26 million tons of gasoline - 15% more than in the same period 2025.

"The reduction in gasoline supplies in September occurred against the background of a seasonal decrease in consumption. The demand was also pressured by this year's record retail prices, which encouraged car owners to economize," the A-95 Consulting Group reported.

Lithuania remained the largest source of gasoline supplies in September, from where 46.4 thousand tons, or 32% of the total volume, were imported. Compared to August, deliveries decreased by 10.4%.

Poland took second place with 36.8 thousand tons, or 25% of Ukrainian imports. A month earlier, 40.1 thousand tons were delivered from the country.

Thus, the combined share of Lithuania and Poland in September decreased from 60% to 57%. Deliveries of the largest supplier — the ORLEN group — from these two countries decreased from 78.8 thousand to 67.8 thousand tons. Despite the decrease, ORLEN accounted for about 47% of all Ukrainian gasoline imports.

At the same time, the geography of supplies has changed. Imports from Germany decreased by 25% compared to August — to 13.6 thousand tons. Of this volume, 8.3 thousand tons, or 61%, was imported by the UPG network.

At the same time, the share of the southern direction increased. Gasoline supplies from Romania increased by 29% — from 23.4 thousand to 30.1 thousand tons. As a result, Romania took third place among supplier countries and provided more than 20% of September imports.

Supplies from Greece, on the other hand, decreased by 28% — from 15,000 to 10,800 tons. Imports from Moldova more than doubled — from 1.9 thousand to 4.1 thousand tons.

Thus, despite the decrease in total imports in September, supplies remain higher than last year's level, and in the nine months of 2026, Ukraine imported gasoline by 15% more than a year earlier.
