The import of gasoline to Ukraine in July increased by more than 50% in a month

As the Experts Club analytical center reports with reference to the data of the "Consulting Group A-95", Ukraine imported about 196 thousand tons of gasoline in July 2026, which was the maximum figure since August 2025.

At the same time, the data of the infographic published by the "Consulting Group A-95" show that compared to June, the volume of supplies increased by approximately 51%. In June, the main destinations provided about 130,000 tons of gasoline, while in July — already about 196,000 tons.

A sharp increase in imports occurred despite the transition of the Ukrainian market to the E10 standard from July 1, which requires the mandatory addition of bioethanol to gasoline. The new requirement temporarily narrowed the list of available foreign suppliers.

In particular, the Greek refinery Hellenic Petroleum, whose products were previously used by Ukrainian traders in periods of increased demand, does not produce gasoline of the required standard.

At the same time, the beginning of July coincided with the increase in the cost of oil products on the world market and increased domestic demand.

A-95 notes that the most tense situation was in the first half of the month, but the increase in supplies made it possible to stabilize the market in the second half of July. Importers also pre-contracted the necessary volumes for August.

Poland and Lithuania became the main source of additional resources. Imports from Lithuania increased from 40.5 thousand tons in June to 56.1 thousand tons in July, from Poland - from 30.7 thousand to 51.7 thousand tons.

Delivery from Germany also increased significantly - from 16.9 thousand to 20.9 thousand tons. About 34,000 tons arrived from Romania, against 31,200 tons a month earlier.

At the same time, imports from Moldova decreased from 9,600 to 5,800 tons.

Thus, July became a test for the Ukrainian market of the ability to quickly rebuild external supplies after the change in gasoline quality requirements. Despite the initial reduction of the available resource base, importers were able to increase their supply by approximately one and a half times in one month.
