The USDA maintained the corn harvest forecast in Ukraine at the level of 31.8 million tons

The US Department of Agriculture maintained the forecast for corn production in Ukraine in the 2026/27 marketing year at the level of 31.8 million tons, despite a significant revision of the estimate of the world harvest of this crop.

According to the September USDA WASDE report, the forecast for the export of Ukrainian corn has also not changed and is 22 million tons. Domestic consumption is expected at the level of 7.2 million tons, of which 5.5 million tons will be for feed purposes.

At the same time, the American agency increased the forecast of the final stocks of corn in Ukraine by 0.6 million tons — from 4.86 million tons in August to 5.46 million tons in September.

Initial stocks have also been revised upwards — from 2.25 million tons to 2.85 million tons. The import of corn is expected to be at a minimal level — about 10,000 tons.
The situation on the world market is developing differently. The USDA reduced the forecast of global corn production in FY 2026/27 by almost 8 million tons — from 1 billion 298.88 million tons to 1 billion 290.95 million tons.

The forecast for world corn trade was reduced significantly less — from 210.48 million tons to 210.08 million tons, and ending stocks — from 274.66 million tons to 272.10 million tons.
The main decrease in production is connected, in particular, with worsening forecasts for the USA, India, Kenya and Russia. At the same time, EU production estimates were raised.
